Heya

My boyfriend David, (who also writes a blog much more regularly than me) a few weeks ago moved to Brighton to study software engineering at university (because he’s a nerdy smart-ass). We’re still together and are keeping it as long distance. Even though it’s been about a month now. I can gladly say that it is a lot harder than it seems and I wouldn’t reccomend it for the faint hearted, but if you like me. Love that special someone that much, you’ll be willing to put the best of your efforts into it. There are alot of things that I have learnt about myself from this. For example, I am alot more paranoid, worrisome and prone to jealousy than I originally thought I was. But after a while, I realised that I needed to get my head together. You do need to let your partner go out and hae a good time, you need to be able to trust them and you need to know that they trust you too. Just imagine if you were in their shoes, a text every 10 seconds asking if they are okay, is definetly not a good idea. Especially is it’s freshers week and they are planning to get very drunk. Secondly, talk to eachother, whoever created Skype is a fricken’ genius! Also text them. And to the guys, girls love it when you call them spontaneously just so you can have a lovely long chat about crap. It shows to us girls that you are still thinking about us. Thirdly, try and organise a visit to see eachother, it’ll give something for the two of you to look forward to, even thouh it may be far away.

That’s all I can think of right now…

College

Heya people’s

So for the past three weeks, I have been an official college girl, and boy am I crapping myself everyday. I’m now studying A levels in Film Studies, Media Studies, English Literature and Psychology and so far I am doing quite well in juggling four subjects. My favourite subject has got to be Film, so far it’s alot more hardwork than I anticipated. Which I think is great since alot of people quickly dropped it because they thought it was a doss. So now we have a pretty small class and the work we do is pretty interesting. I really can’t wait till I start my coursework though (I get to either write my own film or create one). My least favourite subject has got to be Media, hands down. Simply because of one of the tutors and the class I am in do my head in. But also, I’m quite excited about doing the coursework, which luckily is very similar to the film coursework. Psychology is a good lesson too, it’s a real challenge but once I get the grip of things boy do I feel smart, we’re looking into memory at the moment which makes my brain explode! But it’s worth it. Finally English Lit… is alright, my old drama teacher back from secondary school (which seems so far behind me) teaches it and the lessons are alot better thanmost classes I’ve had in the past. The only downside is the assignments which seem abit ridolous to be honest…

So I’m really enjoying this brand spanking new experience, the building is huge and sixth form studies so happens to be at the very top floor. Which is great since I get extremely out of breathe and flushed if I’m late for class, which is perfect. Another complaint would be the buses I have to catch drive me mental, stagecoach is hopeless, simple.

On the upside, I’ve felt that become more confident in myself as a person, I’m not as shy as I am alot more happier as well. I feel more grown up there and that I’m a mature student and not a silly sixth former. They don’t have bells which means it’s your responsibility to get to class and you don’t call the tutors by they’re alst name. The college treats your like an dult ehich is great. Also the food they’re is absolutley scrummy ;D

I’m back… hopefully

So I, Hannah Perry have finally gotten myself my first laptop. This will hopefully mean that i’ll be blogging more and wasting what is left of my precious childhood on the internet, playing scary video games and generally being bored despite having a whole universe of opportunity and entertainment at my fingertips.

So after this long interval, alot has happened. So here’s an update.

I have got a job, I work at Mcdonalds as a Lobby Hostess, which generally means that I walk around he dining area, cleaning, smiling and giving out balloons. Simple yet mundane, however the pay is pretty damn good.

I have now officially finished my secondary education and have recieved my GCSE results, which were pretty damn great, the highlight of my results being a Distinction in Performing Arts. A Distinction* in Sport and an A* in Citizenship very high B’s in Business and History.

I have enrolled in my new college where I will be studying A levels in Film Studies, Media Studies, English Literature and Psychology. In fact I will be starting officially next tuesday, which I’m absolutely crapping myself about (the place is effin huuuuuuge!!)

I went to Annual Camp to Thetford (which is where they filmed Dad’s Army) for a week, with cadets and that mainly involved me getting really angry, tired and aching all over. As well as making alot of new friends and having a general laugh.

So that is all the fun which I have had over the summer, and now that it has finally come into september it’s time for a new begining, a new me. AH! Screw that, now where’s my muffin.

Destroya- Music Video

I love My Chemical Romance, they have got to be one of the worlds greatest bands in the world. For those who are unfamiliar with the band (which is probably impossible) then go check em’ out.

I had an idea not too long ago about an idea for a music video on their new album for the song Destroya, a carry on from the Sing video. I really love the concept and I really wish that they would carry it on. However they have already done 4 videos (not including Sing it for Japan) so it is unlikely that they will release another, but this is my idea for what they should do. Inspired by Scott Pilgrim by the way. This video also shows my obsession with the band and my excessive use of Wikipedia

The apparently deceased killjoys wake up in a dark abandoned werehouse, they appear to be alone until a bright light is shined on them and three silhouettes are seen infront of them. The man in the centre is anonymous, but he is wearing the that Party Poison is seen wearing helmet like head gear in the Na Na Na video (not to be confused with his mask). The two on either side of him are Newsagogo (the woman in Sing) and Korse (the android seen in both Na Na Na and Sing). The leader snaps his fingers and the whole werehouse is flooded with light. As the Killjoys adjust to the light they see four figures infront of them. They are revealed to be exact replicas of the Killjoys, there Dopplegangers who have come to challenge them. They are holding instruments (which each member would normally play) and in front of them are similar instruments which the real Killjoys pick up (this is where the song Destroya starts).

As they go throughout the music battle many Scott Pilgrim like words and effects come up from the instruments (for example both Party Poison’s have the lyrics coming out of there mouth) every now and then. After a long battle, both opponents are impossible to beat. They look at eachother and turn around to the spectators. Using there music they destroy both Newsagogo and Korse but leaves the leader on the floor hurt. Both Killjoys approach him and take off his mask. They are seen shocked and the video ends there.

Just a lil somin to show you how amazingly sad I am and my lack of life in this humdrum world.

5 Influential Films

So I haven’t blogged in months and there’s no point to apologize because to be honest, I don’t have a good enough excuse which can back me up. I just haven’t been bothered to do it. So in order to make up for my lack of posts, I will give you a big-ish one and hope that it will encourage me to keep at this. But don’t expect another one soon-ish. As you probably know, film is a huge part of my life, my biggest ambition being a film director. This morning I was thinking what films have inspired me to set this ultimate goal. And I came up with these ones in no particular order, hope you enjoy this.

1) Chatroom, 2010: A film which has only been added to my list and I’m watching it now as I’m doing this blog. It was done by one of my most favourite Directors, Hideo Nakata. A man famous for his j-horror (Ringu and Dark Water, great films). It is based on the play of the same name by Enda Walsh, which I did in my Drama class as a final assessment. It revolves around 5 teenagers who meet on the internet and encourage eachothers behaviour. This includes things from petty vandalism to an actual Suicide attempt. I played Eva in the play and I really liked performing in it. I came across the film by accident, I had no idea it existed and it came up as a reccomendation to me on this website. I watched it straight away and loved every second. I liked how they kept elements of the play, but they put so much more depth into the characters, the script and the setting. The way it has been shot is in a very artistic and stylish way which uses alot of wide shots. All these reasons are why I love this film and have inspired.

2) Pan’s Labyrinth, 2006: I’m very fond of foreign films, but spanish films is something I’ve never really gotten round to watching properly, I’ve seen [REC] and half of The Orphanage and they were alright. Pan’s Labyrinth was always something I’ve fancied watching, but never really had a chance to. I found it on Youtube eventually and decided to sit back, have some blue wkd and watch it. I was more than suprised at how fantastically amazing it was. Set in post-war Spain in the 1940s. It follows the story of a litttle girl and how she copes with her cruel life by entering a world where magic and danger lurk behind every corner. The further you go into the film, the harder it is to tell whether the world of Pan is real or not. This film is once again, very artistic and is and fairy tale for adults. I love how wonderfully dark the film is and how the ending will guarantee to leave you bawling your eyes out.

3) Donnie Darko, 2001: I first watched this movie when I was 14 and it got recomended to me by a friend. I had no idea what it was about unlike most of the films on here. All I knew was that there was a big bunny rabbit called Frank. After watching this film, made me truly realize that being an English teacher was no longer what I wanted to be, but a film director. The film is about Donnie, a boy with emotional problems and how his brush from death leads to the end of the world. The film hits you on a psychological level and once you’ve watched it, you’d want to watch it over and over again just so you can actually understand what happening. If you want to watch this, I’d reccomend that you whould watch the directors cut. It makes the movie easier to understand and has some scenes which add to the ‘OMFG I didn’t see that’ factor.

 4) The Hurt Locker, 2009: If I was to make an Military Drama, I’d have to go back in time, kill the writer and director for this movie. And then make this film. As many of you probably know, I’m a member of the army cadets (I’ve been promoted to Lance Corporal now) and because of this I’ve never liked watching war films because of there innacuracy which annoys me alot. But when I saw the Hurt Locker (which I wasn’t very keen on seeing anyway) I was was very impressed by how accurate, gritty, suspenseful and interesting the film was. It’s based in Iraq, which makes it easier to relate and understand and follows three very well scripted characters on a bomb squad. Unfortunately I haven’t seen this film in a very long time so I can’t quite remember it. But I do remember how great the film had been done.

5) Scott Pilgrim vs The World, 2010: Edgar Wright, has got to be the best director ever! He’s also behind the films which made Simon Pegg and Nick Frost stars of comedy (Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz). Music is a huge part of my life and this film has great music as well as being an awesome film. This is also one of my boyfriend’s favourite movies of all time. David, is a gamer geek (in an awesome and cute way that is) and he is more than proud to admit that he knew the pacman/pucman thing before he saw the movie. Onto the film anyway. I love how the film has infused music and random gaming facts and idea into it (the pee gauge is pretty awesome in my opinion). The film inspired an idea that I had for a music video, but that’s for another blog.

Chapter 1- A new case, abroad

‘Mai, Tea now!’

‘Alright, alright!’ Mai had had enough, she wanted to get out of the place, the Shibuya Paranormal Research office was driving her nuts, even without its arrogant owner shouting and ordering her around like a slave. It was the summer holidays after all, she should be out shopping and hanging out with her friends. Not making tea for the world’s biggest narcissist.

‘Mai, can you come into my office please!’ Came the unmistakeable voice of Naru. She sighed and carried his piping hot tea to the office door, knocking before she came in. Kazuya Shibuya was sitting at his desk looking at some papers and his computer. He was wearing his usual attire, a black shirt and black khakis to match his black hair and dark, expressionless face. Despite his colourless palette, seeing him never failed to make Mai’s heart jump a little when she saw him.

‘What is it? I’m already busy filing up your last case. Don’t tell you have more work for me to do.’ She said. Although she had a feeling that it wasn’t anything to do with paperwork. She hoped she’d somehow manage to hit a guilt spot in his brain. As per usual her attempt struck no such chord (if one exists).

‘I don’t have more work for you to do, for now that is.’ He looked up from his papers setting them down; he turned the computer screen around to face Mai. She set down his tea on his desk and took a closer look at the screen. It was an extremely old photo of a family. They were dressed in 19th century clothing and by looking closely at the background you could tell the photo was taken somewhere in Western Europe, maybe Germany or Britain.

‘Why are you showing me this?’ Asked Mai.

‘This is the one of the few photos left of the Aldington family, the head Richard Aldington ran his own slave trade company and was one of the most wealthiest businessmen in the Victorian era of England. However one night under mysterious circumstances the head murdered each member of his family in hideous ways.’ Said Naru bluntly.

‘How did he do it?’ Interrupted Mai.

‘Let me finish, Richard Aldington was arrested and put into a mental hospital where he spent the rest of his life in. And since there was no heir to the Aldington estate the manor became derelict for a number of lives until it was handed over to the national trust and became a museum and nature reserve for the public.’ Lin walked into the room and set on the sofa, nodding and Mai and Naru as he did so. He lay back and closed his eyes, waiting for his boss to carry on the briefing. Mai looked away from the short distraction and faced Naru.

‘I don’t why this is all relevant, is this a new case?’ She raised an eyebrow, waiting for his response. Naru cleared his throat.

‘Yes this is a new case, recently the house has been experiencing some unexplained phenomena, the details are a bit mundane in the letter and e mail I received but the general gist of it all may be down to poltergeist activity. The curator of the museum and the chairman of the national trust decided to call in Miss Masako Haru in order to help. When she arrived she contacted me believing that extra help will be at hand. John Brown, Houshou Takigawa and Ayako Matsuzaki will also be coming with us to England.’ When Naru finally finished, Mai sat on the chair next to Lin.

‘So, we’re going to England? I can’t afford that!’ She replied. Naru smiled a rare smile.

‘Did I mention it’s an all expenses payed, first class flight?’ Mai smiled from ear to ear, maybe this summer wasn’t going to be so bad after all.

Haven’t done one of these in a while, but expect another review soon as I’m hosting a sleepover scream fest with some friends tomorrow.
Despicable Me **** I remember watching this on the way back from America, I wasn’t paying much attention to it though so we rented it and watches it as a family. The film was funny, quirky and cute. It had the traditional feel good family ending. That always seem to be wrapped up with a big dance. But the one thing that kept the film going… The Minions, they have to be the most cutest things ever!!! They go right up there with the green aliens from Toy Story. When the film got fairly boring (which it did at times) they were always there to put a smile on my face and secure a chuckle to escape my mouth.
Vampires Suck **** This film got mostly bad reviews if I can remember, but the critics obviously weren’t former Twilight freaks like I was. My mum and dad watched this with me and unfortunately didn’t understand most of the jokes that were in it. I found it hilarious and was just complete tongue and cheek all the way through. It was great to watch something which just took the complete and utter piss of the ridiculous saga with no boundaries.
This unfortunately however won’t stop me going to watch Breaking Dawn and squealing over it with my friends, but what can I say, I gotta stick to my roots. xXx
P.s. I loved Twilight, before the movies, before it was cool!!! The same thing happened to me with Metro Station -.-

Weight loss program 1

So I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to lose some serious weight now, I’m really getting podgy. How am I going to achieve this? Not by exercise or by eating healthily (because I don’t really eat anyway) I’m going to go gigging with my friends… Allot!!!
On March 3rd Simone and I are going to go see All Time Low where I will go through a calorie burning routine of screaming, crying and trying to stay in the pits for as long as possible (before I faint). On the 12th March I will hopefully go and see Mayday Parade, which will consist of the same but allot less due to the fact that it’ll be a smaller venue and that they’re not as much as a scream-worthy band (awesome as they are). On the 9th(?) April I am going to see The Blackout which will be the same routine as All Time Low but a bigger workout out as I am planning to do a he’ll of a lot more head banging.
There is also going to be a load of local gigs that I’m more than likely goof to go to due to links to the bands. So I have here a strict and thorough weight loss program.
Oh and I’m also going to Annual Camp with Army Cadets in the summer which will be a whole week of shouting, running with extremely heavy bags and sleeping out in the wilderness for two days.
Let the weight loss begin (on march 3rd) xXx

It Never Ends (Part 2)

We got to English just after the bell went and we sat down and got our books out. Jared spent most of the lesson vandalizing the tables and trying to make a sexual innuendo out of everything that Mr. Chandler said, chuckling to himself every couple of seconds with his twisted sense of humor. I however, tried and failed to listen to Mr. Chandler’s constant drone as he read a book that was probably as old as he was. By the end of the lesson I had thought of over a hundred ways to kill Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

Break came and went, mainly consisting of Jared and I sneaking a quick fag at the end of the school field behind a large bush, with Jared’s customers (so to speak). The bell rang and I ran to Art leaving Jared to hang back to sell some more.

Art, one of the few lessons which I didn’t share with Jared was something I always enjoyed despite his absence. I simply jammed my earphones in and turned up Green Day on at full blast. Blocking out the rest of the world and getting on with my work. We were doing our mid-term project which was that we had to create something which represented our childhood. Seems easy at first, but for me I just hit a wall. Everybody else was way ahead of me, past their first draft and onto their final piece. Whilst I just sat at my desk staring at a blank sheet of paper, sometimes I would start to draw something, then I would thoroughly rub it out. My art teacher was very fond of giving me dirty looks at this point. ‘Dear me Samamtha, if you don’t hurry up this will go into your own time.’ She’d say to me, I’d just smirk to myself and try to ignore the snickering peers behind me. Try being me for once, then you’d stop laughing.

Art dragged, science trailed by like a snail, lunch came and went. Maths mainly consisted of me whizzing through the whole worksheet in about fifteen minutes then sitting back and letting boredom wash over me as Jared teased and rattled Mr Donne as much as humanly possible. He got sent out within the first twenty minutes, a maths class record (he got kicked out of Resistant Materials once within the first five minutes).

Run

So my dad’s in a band, he plays the keyboard and they do a number of cover songs. They are pretty good to be honest.
But I swear if I hear my father play boomtown rats, snow patrol or even supergrass one more bloody time…..
That is all xXx
